I have been working on SharePoint since Version 1 and it has evolved greatly! One of the biggest challenge in implementing this or any collaboration tool, is getting people to use it. Check out my blog posts at http://collaborationtalk.wordpress.com -- I have blogged on the implementation challenges and how to "humanize" these tools for remote use. Humanizing the collaboration tools is key as well as having them replace a process rather than be in addition to.
